In our 70th anniversary season, we honor our founder, Lillian Weisberg, with a series of four extraordinary dance performances that reflect the qualities she embodied throughout her life: creativity, passion, tenderness, vigor, energy, humor, and curiosity. 

The season features Northeast Ohio audience favorites alongside fresh new artists making their Ohio debuts—and all showcase the importance of modern and contemporary dance, its ability to inspire and take us away on an adventure with each performance.

The Anniversary Season kicks off September 19 and 26 with Northeast Ohio choreographer Dominic Moore-Dunson’s Black By Nature, a site-specific performance experienced as a hike through the Summit County Metroparks, which can be added on to any subscription package at no extra cost.  Playhouse Square performances begin November 7 with the Cleveland debut of Charlotte Ballet performing contemporary works by some of the most sought-after choreographers today, followed by the return of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago January 23 with a collection of pieces including choreography by the esteemed American jazz choreographer Bob Fosse. We will warm up winter with the creativity of the shape shifting Pilobolus on February 27 and close out the season April 17 with the Ohio premiere of GALLIM, a riveting, NYC-based company that is fiercely physical while embodying the sensitivity of the human experience.
