Alonzo King LINES Ballet

San-Francisco based, Alonzo King LINES Ballet returns to Cleveland to help us celebrate community dance day 2020! The celebrated contemporary ballet company is known for their exquisite dancers, luxurious lines, and unique combination of contemporary choreography with a classical ballet esthetic. Guided since 1982 by the artistic vision of Alonzo King, LINES Ballet performs in renowned theatres across the world for over 40,000 audience members every year. Mr. King’s choreography draws deeply on rooted cultural traditions, imbuing classical ballet with new expressive potential and exploring what unites us as human beings: empathy, joy, and the ability to transcend. LINES Ballet investigates similarities between Western and Eastern classical forms, the natural world, and the human spirit. With technically superb dancers that seem to melt across the stage in their fluid movement, the July performance in Cleveland will feature several contemporary ballet works that exude creativity and beauty.
