This all-levels class introduces the fundamentals of ballroom dancing and what sets it apart from other styles. Participants will explore key concepts like connection, lead and follow, movement, and timing, along with simple exercises designed to build real, transferable dance skills. Whether you're brand new or experienced, this class will give you practical tools to improve your dancing right away.
Jonathan began dancing in 2006 at the age of 16 and quickly
discovered a passion for teaching. After founding ballroom clubs at Canton
McKinley and GlenOak High Schools, he went on to compete across the United
States, earning national and world titles for both himself and his students. He
is now the co-owner of R&J Ballroom in Canton, Ohio, where he specializes
in helping beginners and social dancers gain confidence and enjoy the process
of learning to dance. Through group classes, private lessons, and community
events, Jonathan and his team are building a welcoming space for dancers of all
levels—and working to establish Canton as a hub for ballroom dance.
