“Doug Elkins is an authentic creator
who knows how to hustle and translate traditional choreographic language into new forms ….”Le Figaro,
Paris
The downtown New York dance scene has always been defined as smart, witty and fresh. Doug Elkins
takes it one step further with his creation of Fräulein Maria—a riff on the beloved movie musical, The Sound of Music, that
has become a holiday staple at Joe’s Pub- NY Public Theatre. Featuring fabulous dancing that invokes choreographers
from Ballet Russes to Gene Kelly, expect to laugh out loud and perhaps hum ‘These are a few of my favorite things’.
